Description:

The purpose of this CME activity is to define and describe gender and other bias in medicine, effect on physicians (wage gap, leadership opportunities/gaps, bullying/harassment/burnout) and impact on patients (bias as driver of disparities, clinical implications, effect on physician/patient relationship).

There are studies and talks in various venues and forums on aspects of these subjects and individual topics, but it is unique to consider them together, linking the physician and patient together in one program--two sides of the coin of bias in medicine. There is increased attention in the media in these topics in the workplace in general, as well as related more specifically to medicine.

This half day program will be comprised of two panel discussions (one physician focused, the second patient care focused) followed by a keynote address/discussion that ties the two panels together. Click here to view flyer.
