Description: This CME Essentials Workshop is being offered to those interested in the basics of developing quality continuing medical education (CME) activities that are compliant with the accreditation requirements. This workshop is specifically geared toward physicians, coordinators, and health care professionals who are new to CME or those who are looking for a basic refresher course. Attendees will learn how to apply a systematic process to planning and evaluating CME activities, how to comply with Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) Standards for Commercial SupportSM, and how to navigate the ACCME Criteria for Accreditation with Commendation. Objectives
■ Apply the accreditation requirements and policies of ACCME (adopted by the Massachusetts Medical Society)
■ Link the requirements and policies to supporting documentation
■ Integrate the new Accreditation with Commendation Criteria into your CME activities
