Gaining control of your finances might feel impossible, especially after incurring significant education debt; but it doesn’t have to.  Recently retired orthopedic surgeon and MMS member, Dr. John Blute, will provide practical advice from a physician’s real-world experience about managing finances and effective personal budgeting that will help you focus on saving, paying off debt, and planning for retirement.
Join us at the Countway Library on the evening of January 14th for a light meal and information sharing!  Or, for those who are not in the Boston area, join us via webcast.

Speaker Information:
John W. Blute, Jr., MD
Concord Orthopedics, Inc.
An accomplished physician and orthopedic surgeon, John W. Blute, Jr., MD maintained a successful private practice in Concord, MA and served as a member of the Emerson Hospital medical staff for more than three decades.
As a member of the Emerson Hospital medical staff, Dr. Blute served in a variety of leadership capacities during his tenure with the hospital, including as a hospital trustee, and as a member of the IPA and PHO boards of directors. His tenure also included having served as the hospital’s associate chief of surgery, operating room committee chair and as chair of the department of orthopedics. He continues as a volunteer with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery.
Dr. Blute earned his medical degree at the University of Vermont College of Medicine in Burlington, VT and
completed two years in general surgery at the University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville, VA. Dr. Blute completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the Medical Center  Hospital of Vermont at the University of Vermont College of Medicine, as well as a post-residency training in hand surgery with the New England Baptist Hospital in Boston, MA.
Recently retired from full-time practice, Dr. Blute continues as a consultant for a local nursing home, is giving educational talks and teaching financial literacy in a local school and the UVM College of Medicine..  He greatly enjoys having more time with his family, including 5 grandchildren. He also enjoys sailing, reading widely, exercise, investing, photography and world travel.
