The collaboration of mental health professionals with their medical peers in the face of disaster is vital for the health of the community. This program will provide medical and mental health professionals with a unique opportunity to focus together on how the combination of their skills can greatly enhance preparedness, response and recovery from disaster. Psychiatrists will get a sense of how one can use psychological understanding and skills in a more supportive and compassionate way to reach out to people who do not necessarily think they need a psychiatrist.

The Massachusetts Psychiatric Society is accredited by the Massachusetts Medical Society to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
