Health care professionals work in a unique industry and routinely encounter highly personal and often intense situations that put them at risk of experiencing workplace violence. OSHA determined that serious workplace violence incidents were four times more common in health care from 2002 to 2013. It is crucial for all variations of physician practices, from small to large, to consider the impact of workplace violence and implement policies that reduce the risk of incidents occurring within their practice setting.
