Unconscious bias, also known as implicit bias or implicit social cognition, refers to the attitudes or stereotypes that affect our understanding, actions and decisions in an unconscious manner. We will examine how unconscious bias impacts healthcare delivery and discuss strategies to reduce unconscious bias within healthcare teams and in treating patients.
Participate in this dynamic conversation with Sherri-Ann Burnett-Bowie, MD, MPH from the MGH Center for Diversity and Inclusion at the 2018 MMS Resident & Fellow Section Annual Meeting, and elect your Resident/Fellow leaders for 2018-2019! Registration includes a four-course dinner and two drink tickets. $10 for members and $20 for non-members/guests.

As a member of the Resident and Fellow Section, you are eligible to serve on the RFS Governing Council. As a Governing Council member, you would take an active role in directing the policy and activities of the Section both in Massachusetts and on the national level at the AMA.
