Description:
Great meadows is a good spot to view a variety of water and land birds. This trip will start with a walk along a dike that passes between two large freshwater impoundments. You will look for ducks and will hear and see Yellow Warbler, Common Yellow Throat and Warbling Vireo. Then you will follow the trail that leads between one impoundment and the Concord River, where you will hear and see Marsh Wren, Swamp Sparrow, Baltimore Oriole and Eastern Kingbird, plus many more. You will conclude the field trip by walking through a mixed forest and then along a long-abandoned railroad right of way, where you will listen and search for scarlet Tanager, Rose Breasted Grosbeak, House Wren, and Ovenbird.
