Description:
This virtual 3.5 day program is designed for physicians by the Massachusetts Medical Society and The Heller School for Social Policy and Management at Brandeis University. 
 
In today’s evolving health care environment, physicians need exceptional leadership skills to manage rapid change in their workplace. This program is designed to train physicians to be leaders or to advance their current leadership skills. Sessions will address optimizing opportunities and negotiating challenges in the workplace, including the impact of racial and gender-based bias and inequity within health care organizations. The program will also empower participants to return to the workplace with a clear understanding of the imperative for action and a more robust toolkit to inspire positive change. This program is open to physicians interested in advancing their careers and accelerating their leadership skills, while building inclusive work environments.

Learning Objectives 
After participating in this activity, physicians should be able to:
• Establish themselves as confident, effective leaders in their health care organizations
• Manage the power dynamic and culture within their organizations
• Develop strategies to lead their organizations through rapid change and uncertainty
• Address challenging issues such as implicit or explicit bias, difficult conversations, and workplace conflicts utilizing communication and negotiation skills
• Promote the importance of health equity and diversity in the health care work force to improve patient care
• Identify and connect with mentors to empower their professional development
• Cultivate and leverage a community of colleagues to provide support and networking opportunities

The Massachusetts Medical Society is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

The Massachusetts Medical Society designates this live activity for a maximum of 31.0 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
