The 2017 MMS Women’s Leadership Forum: Confident Communication: Achieving Socially Intelligent Leadership is sponsored by the Massachusetts Medical Society Committee on Women in Medicine.
The Forum will focus on building assertive communication skills that are essential for impactful interactions and social influence. Participants will learn from experienced physician leaders and educators through informative and interactive sessions, panels and collegiate networking. Speakers will share practical tools for strategic communication and handling challenging conversations. Confident communication enhances personal satisfaction and professional advancement.
The Forum provides valuable presentations and activities, including:
·An opening keynote addressing the multiple facets of public speaking. Angela Lussier, award-winning speaker, author and founder of the Speaking School for Women

  ·A special presentation on the pathway to MMS leadership. Maryanne Bombaugh, MD,MSc, MBA, Vice-President, Massachusetts Medical Society

·An interactive session that strengthens strategic communication and can influence the new world of medicine. Diana Dill, EdD, organizational psychologist, clinician and coach and Catherine Lanteri, MD, FAPA, psychiatrist and physician development coach

·An award address about a woman’s leadership journey to the Board of Registration in Medicine (BORIM). CandaceLapidus Sloane, MD, Chair, Massachusetts BORIM and recipient, 2017 MMS Women Physicians Leadership Award

·An afternoon keynote about the utilization of an innovative voice analytics technology to improve oral delivery. Debra Cancro, founder and CEO of VoiceVibes

·Presentation from Baystate Health’s Women Advancing and Achieving in Medicine (WAAM) about its Women’s Speaker Development Program for leadership development
The Forum also includes the 2017 MMS Women Physicians Leadership Award Presentation and Luncheon.
